Move 4: How Did I Contribute to GHG Emissions This Month?
Data from my Capstone:
One weekend in Chicago, IL and another in Steamboat, CO
Plane 5.5 hours: 260 kg of CO2 emissions
Car 30 miles: 10 kg of CO2 emissions
Train 4 hours: 24 kg of CO2 emissions
Bus 6 hours (310 miles): 60 kg of CO2 emissions
This data is purely estimated on resources that I had found on various websites. Although this might not be perfect, I think it paints a good picture of what travel can put into out aatmosphere. I found that while it might not be the most efficient form of travel, train is the least destructive form of long-distance travel.
