My Story

The reson why I became interested in this topic started with my time at the Conserve School. I loved the way environmental science was taught, and it gave me some insight as to what is happening in our world.

After seeing The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History at a Barnes & Noble I knew that this would be something that could really spark my research.

My interests include hiking, backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, camping, biking, reading, listening to music, skiing, snowshoeing, and much more. Something that I had realized this year is that because of climate change many of those activities that I love could be in jepordy in a few years. With the ocean levels rising and the water becoming more acidic, with the drought affecting more and more places, and air pollution eventually threatening our ability to breath the air.

In college I hope to study environmental science so that I am able to combat what is currently happening to our earth. I am especially dissapointed in the fact that we humans have done a majority of the damage ourselves, and some refuse to see that.
